Arlula is changing the way earth observation data is utilised and managed. Earth observation data, such as satellite imagery, is applied across various industries like climate management, agriculture, mining and defence, allowing people to better understand changes to our planet as seen from space.
We are currently seeking a final year student/recent graduate to join us as an intern working alongside our product and operations team across our geospatial data and orbital asset management platforms. As part of our team, you will learn about the space and Earth observation industry, develop your product and operational skills by working with our multidisciplinary team to translate customer needs into product improvements, and apply best practice as you help grow our software platform.
As part of our internship program, we will provide educational opportunities to help you upskill in areas such as:
- Product operations and the product development lifecycle,
- Customer research, feedback synthesis and requirements gathering,
- Core geospatial and Earth observation industry concepts,
- Process design, documentation and operational tooling,
- Collaboration as part of an agile product team in a fast paced startup environment.
With mentorship from our team, you will lead a project that introduces you to earth observation concepts and be directly involved in supporting the product lifecycle through research, planning, prioritisation, coordination, testing and release of new features.
JOB TITLE: Product Operations Intern.
JOB TYPE: Part Time.
LOCATION: Headquarters: 477 Pitt Street Sydney, NSW,
SUPERVISOR/MANAGER: Chief Product Officer.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Test new and existing features; identify bugs and edge cases before release
- Log, triage and track bugs with clear, reproducible reports
- Coordinate and run User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and capture sign-off
- Write product cards, user stories and acceptance criteria
- Create and maintain documentation, release notes and how-to guides
- Support feature releases, including pre- and post-release checks
- Gather and synthesise customer and internal feedback
- Track product usage, KPIs and operational metrics
- Maintain product operations tooling, backlogs and workflows
- Coordinate across engineering, sales and customer-facing teams
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Qualifications:
This position is to support those wanting to develop as product and operations professionals in the space and/or earth observation sectors. Candidates may come from any qualification in business, engineering, computer science, the physical sciences, or related disciplines, with a demonstrated interest in product and how technology reaches customers.
Skills and Experience:
Final year students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. We are happy to support students completing industry/workplace placement requirements as part of this programme.
Required:
- Must have a permanent residency or citizenship status
- Interest in the new space and/or earth observation sectors
- Strong analytical, organisational and written communication skills
- Comfort working with data and translating it into actionable insights
- Exposure to product, project or operations concepts
- Interest in startups/small enterprise
Preferred:
- Knowledge and/or experience with product management tools (e.g. Jira, Notion, Linear)
- Familiarity with customer research, user feedback or requirements gathering
- Exposure to SaaS or platform-based businesses
